I'm Going Back To The Wind Farms

I'm Going Back To The Wind Farms

I'm going back to the wind farms.

I'm going back home.

A sunset at dusk. Pylons in the distance. Wind farms in the distance too.
Beautiful beautiful wind farms and pylons in Luxembourg.

I still have a lot to do.

I need to pack and I need to practise my Python talk. And oh yeah - I need to GIVE my Python talk, whoops.

I have to leave for my flight tomorrow at about 6 am.

Looking back over the last 6 months, what am I the most happy about?

3 amazing achievements.

Learning Python

I am so proud of all the Python I did. I really have done amazing incredible work. I have done incredibly well. I did a lot. I did so so so much.

I did so, so, so, so much. I did:
  • I learned Python almost from scratch in February using a Codecademy course
  • I consolidated EVERYTHING on my blog on here and using blog posts
  • I consolidated EVERYTHING on LinkedIn
  • I passed multiple technical tests in Python (for other companies too)
  • I passed multiple interviews talking about Python code out loud

But that was just the beginning, in fact

I have done so much more Python than that; I have done so much more this year, like:
  • I have done almost half of the Intermediate Python course, consolidating at each step (and btw this course is hard; we are doing deep stuff now!)
  • I have built so much stuff in Python at work
  • I have done so many Python Codewars problems, and I am getting better and better at them every day! I can now do list comprehensions and generator expressions almost effortlessly 😂

Writing my Software Engineer Princess Blog

I am just so proud of everything I wrote on there.

I am just so proud of everything I have written on there.

I learned so so so SO much.

I have learned so, so, so, so, so, so much.
  • Consolidating loads of cool Python methods like endswith() that I can now come back to and regularly and easily use
  • Writing up and learning all of the amazing stuff that my mentor has told me and said about software engineering, as well as loads of really cool and amazing stuff from my manager, some of which I am going to use to give a talk to associate engineers next month at work!

Getting My (Amazing, Amazing) New Job

Getting the job at Kraken has honestly been the stuff of dreams and honestly I honestly couldn't have expected for anything to be this amazing.

So, why am I going back to the wind farms?

Because I am going to go back to the village where I was born and go and look at the most amazing wind farms in the world at least the onshore ones at least okay fine they are all amazing fine - and I can see them from the airport too - and I am gonna go at least once - THANK YOU. XXX ! Thank you I love you all and thank you for reading thank you for being a part of this, BYE.
