Confessions of a neurodivergent powerhouse
Confessions of a neurodivergent powerhouse
“ Did you want to see me broken?
Bowed head and lowered eyes?
Shoulders falling down like teardrops,
Weakened by my soulful cries?
Does my haughtiness offend you?
Don’t you take it awful hard
’Cause I laugh like I’ve got gold mines
Diggin’ in my own backyard.” - Maya Angelou
Expect me to be a sweet little girl at your peril. Expect me to appreciate your condescending smiles at your peril. Expect me not to be able to stand up for myself, defend myself or provide for myself at your own risk of looking very silly. I am the last person in the world you should look down on
I don’t do being looked down on
I am beautiful and powerful and strong and I know it. I am amazing and I bring incredible contributions to the team I work in
I build great relationships and I love to uplift the people around me
I love myself and I love you too
